The study focuses on the complex relationship between the use of social networks and the manifestation of anxiety symptoms in 16-year-old adolescents from the Caluma Educational Unit during the 2023-2024 school year. International, national and local antecedents are addressed that underline the significant influence of social networks on the mental health of adolescents, highlighting the association between the excessive use of these platforms and the appearance of anxiety symptoms. A general objective is proposed to establish the incidence of the use of social networks on the prevalence and manifestation of anxiety in this student population, as well as specific objectives that seek to deepen the understanding of this relationship. The proposed methodology includes a non-experimental correlational design, with measurement techniques and instruments such as observation, semi-structured interviews and psychometric tests. The population and selected sample are detailed, as well as the justification of the study, highlighting its relevance for the student community, teachers, parents and the scientific community. The theoretical framework on social networks and anxiety is contextualized, providing definitions and key concepts to understand the dynamics between these variables. In addition, a logbook is presented that documents four observation sessions, detailing the observed behaviors and signs of anxiety manifested by the students during the study period. Finally, a group interview is carried out with the students to explore their perceptions about the use of social networks and their effects on anxiety, providing results that support the importance of investigating this problem and proposing appropriate interventions.es_ES
