dc.descriptionThis study focuses on analyzing how the influence of social networks can affect the self-esteem of adolescents in the Chillanes Educational Unit. The importance of self-esteem according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is presented as a problematic background that explains how self-esteem is important to maintain emotional balance and how the inappropriate use of social networks can negatively affect self-esteem. Citing research indicating a link between the use of social networks and the risk of depression and anxiety, especially among adolescents. This research describes the evident digital transformation in Ecuador, with a significant increase in the use of social networks and access to the web, with Facebook being the most used. It mentions research that validates the link between the use of social networks and how it can affect the self-esteem of young people. In the Chillanes Educational Unit, Psi. Norma Samaniego, mentions that certain social networking sites have a negative influence on the self-esteem of students. The research problem is posed: ¿How do social networks influence the self-esteem of adolescents in the Chillanes Educational Unit? The general objective is to analyze this influence, framed in the line of Clinical and Forensic Psychology. The importance of understanding this phenomenon in adolescence is justified under a descriptive research approach, a non-experimental design and the methodology to be used, including data collection techniques such as surveys, psychometric tests and direct observation.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio se centra en analizar como la influencia de las redes sociales puede afectar la autoestima de los adolescentes de la Unidad Educativa Chillanes. La importancia de la autoestima según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), se presenta como un trasfondo problemático que explica cómo la autoestima es importante para mantener el equilibrio emocional y cómo el uso inadecuado de las redes sociales puede afectar negativamente la autoestima. Citando investigaciones que indican un vínculo entre el uso de las redes sociales y el riesgo de depresión y ansiedad, especialmente entre los adolescentes. Esta investigación describe la evidente trasformación digital en el Ecuador, con un incremento significativo en el uso de las redes sociales y el acceso a la web, siendo Facebook la más utilizada. Se mencionan investigaciones que validan el vínculo entre el uso de las redes sociales y como puede llegar afectar en la autoestima de los jóvenes. En la Unidad Educativa Chillanes, la Psi. Norma Samaniego, menciona que determinadas páginas de redes sociales influyen negativamente en la autoestima de los estudiantes. Se plantea el problema de investigación: ¿Cómo influyen las redes sociales en la autoestima de los adolescentes de la Unidad Educativa Chillanes? El objetivo general es analizar esta influencia, enmarcándose en la línea de Psicología Clínica y Forense. Se justifica la importancia de comprender este fenómeno en la adolescencia bajo un a investigación de enfoque descriptivo, un diseño no experimental y la metodología a utilizar, incluyendo técnicas de recolección de datos como encuestas, test psicométricos y observación directa.es_ES
