Behavior problems in childhood are understood as patterns of inappropriate behavior that generally disturb the well-being of the children who present them, and that of their families. Its causes are varied and range from a mismatch in the family context to a possible neurodevelopmental disorder. They are distinguished from a disorder by the nature of their symptoms, and by the capacity to affect them. In this work, the case of a girl with behavioral problems from the city of Quevedo is addressed, with the purpose of analyzing the causes of her disturbing behaviors, and subsequently providing the respective intervention. The questionnaires applied revealed that the girl maintained an average level of hyperactivity, however, her development was not at risk. The outstanding inappropriate behaviors in the minor were disobedience, tantrums, throwing things on the floor, inappropriate requests and responding badly. The psychological evaluation showed that the girl was going through an adaptation crisis due to a breakdown in her family homeostasis. The family intervention carried out for the case based on the use of parent-child interaction therapy techniques, facilitated the decrease in the girl's inappropriate behaviors, increasing the number of her prosocial or appropriate behaviors.es_ES
