dc.description | The present research work was carried out in 11 Production Units located in the Babahoyo Canton, with the objective of determining the prevalence of subclinical mastitis in dual-purpose cattle. The sample size was 89 cows and the variables to be studied were; prevalence, age, race, origin and affected breast quarters and risk factors. The Microsoft Excel program and the Chi square method were used to tabulate the data. The prevalence obtained was 44.94% since 40 positive cases were evident. Based on the productive units that presented the highest positive cases, it was Rancho Isabel and Luis Sánchez with a prevalence of 7.87% and the one that demonstrated the fewest cases was Teófilo Vera and Kleber Espinoza with 0%. In the age variable, the group that had the highest percentage was 4 to 6 years old with 12.36%, denoting 14 positive cases. In the mixed races there were a greater number of positive cases with 42.70% compared to the Brahmin race with 2.25. The prevalence of mastitis in consideration of the mammary quarters occurs in higher percentages in the left and right anterior quarters with a percentage of 10.11%. Regarding Good Livestock Practices, the productive units that fully comply with the requirements were Rancho Isabel with a percentage of 100% corresponding to Art. 9, in Art. 10 with 85.71% and in Art. 11. with 100%. The interview was very important in this research because it allowed us to know the risk factors for the predisposition of subclinical mastitis. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
