dc.description | The project focused on conducting a bibliographic analysis of ancestral soil and water management strategies used by farmers in tropical America. The main objective is to compile and analyze existing information on these traditional practices in order to understand their relevance, effectiveness and potential for sustainable agriculture. The exhaustive review of scientific literature, previous studies and other relevant documents on the subject, where the results and conclusions found were analyzed and synthesized, identifying the main strategies and techniques used by ancestral farmers. One of the main findings of this project was the diversity of strategies used by farmers in tropical America. These strategies include intercropping, crop rotation, use of organic fertilizers and water management through traditional irrigation systems. It was found that these strategies not only improve agricultural productivity, but also contribute to soil and water conservation, thus reducing the environmental impact of agriculture. In addition, a mapping of farming communities in Tropical America that still maintain these traditional practices was carried out. These ancestral strategies have proven to be effective in ensuring sustainable agricultural productivity and soil and water conservation. However, there are still challenges that need to be addressed to promote the widespread adoption of these strategies and ensure the sustainability of agriculture in tropical America. The outcome of the project is a detailed report that presents ancestral soil and water management strategies, highlighting their cultural, social and environmental importance. Recommendations are included for their promotion and adoption in modern agriculture, considering their benefits in terms of sustainability, resilience and conservation of natural resources | es_ES |

| es_ES |
