dc.descriptionPapaya is a fruit native to Mexico, it is a product with great reception for the consumption of people who love fruit, however, caution must be exercised in its cultivation due to the different pathogens that can cause disease and production losses. Therefore, the case study aims to detail the main control methods of “Phytophthora palmivora” in papaya cultivation in Ecuador. Its methodology was exploratory in nature, with documentary analysis of instruments such as theses, articles, and bibliographic documents related to the subject of study. The conclusions showed that there are several control methods, such as the general, biological, chemical and cultural, all focused on the treatment of the fruit to avoid loss; the general, biological and cultural method focuses on the care of the plant and separation of the healthy products from the blows, care of the planting land, on the other hand, the chemical control is based on the use of fungicides that fight the pest directly , used when the product already has advanced damage.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa papaya es una fruta originaria de México, es un producto con gran acogida para el consumo de las personas amantes de las frutas, sin embargo, en su cultivo se debe tener precaución por los diferentes agentes patógenos que pueden causar enfermedad y perdidas de producción. Por ello el caso de estudio tiene como objetiv0 o detallar los principales métodos de control de la “Phytophthora palmivora” en el cultivo de papaya en el Ecuador. Su metodología fue de carácter exploratorio, con análisis documental de instrumentos como tesis, artículos, y documentos bibliográficos relacionados al tema de estudio. Las conclusiones arrojaron que hay varios métodos de control, como el general, biológico, químico y cultural, todos enfocados en el tratamiento de la fruta para evitar la pérdida; el método general, biológico y cultural se centran en el cuidado de la planta y separación de los productos sanos de los infectados, cuidado el terreno de plantación, por otro lado, el control químico se basa en el uso de fungicidas que combaten la plaga directamente, utilizado cuando ya el producto presenta daños avanzadoses_ES
