dc.description | Crop diversification is a great alternative for crop production in the given location, considering that each crop must be cultivated in a more technical way, without forgetting ancestral knowledge. Banana farms, and in particular small and medium farms that only produce bananas on a small scale, can be greatly affected if production decreases due to climatic elements or the impact of pests or diseases along with black sigatoka, so it is important that they have different ways to create an income. The information obtained was carried out through the technique of analysis, synthesis and summary, with the purpose of informing the reader about agricultural diversification, its importance in the management of pests in banana (Musa paradisiaca AAA) for a sustainable agriculture. Based on the above, it was determined that, through crop diversification, a higher yield can be achieved from a given site planted with polycultures than from an equal area planted with a single crop. Diversification in banana cultivation is essential for the diversity of the environment and can also serve as a food supply, taking into account that the alternation or association with other crops such as: banana-trees, banana-fruit trees, banana-fruit trees, or any other type of strategy will enhance natural pest control and reduce the economic risk in the production system. Diversified banana plantations contribute favorably to biodiversity conservation and favor the distribution of beneficial insects associated with banana cultivation. | es_ES |
