In this document on the efficiency in the use of water in the production of protected crops, it can be determined that irrigation water is essential for crop production, however in recent times its low quality has caused various problems in the soil. , deteriorating agricultural surfaces which lowers the productivity of plantations, especially protected crops; sustainability, referring to the production of agricultural systems, makes the rational use of water essential, considering this element as an essential factor for agriculture; when it is intended to focus the use of water for a merely productive and economic component, biomass is replaced by the yield in kg of product per m3 of water used; The use of water in protected crops has the advantage that the plantations receive fertigation, with good quality water without the risk of salinization or sodification, and in turn making the most of the nutrients and lowering production costs due to their rational use; the efficiency of water use in plants depends on the species and varieties that are related to the ability to optimize carbon assimilation processes and the environmental characteristics where protected crops are grown with a moderate water deficit does not affect production , because with a 25% reduction in the vegetative development phase and a 50% reduction in the harvest, acceptable yields are obtained.es_ES
