This information details the "use of carnivorous plants as biological control of insect pests in perennial crops." Carnivorous plants are able to survive in soils with little amount of nutrients, without requiring such food because they feed on insects. the conclusions determine that there is little information on carnivorous plants as biological control in perennial crops, however, the information that exists is not updated; most genera inhabit swampy terrain, acid soils, and pipes for most plants; In Ecuador, the carnivorous plants found are: Cephalotus follicularis, Dionaea muscipula, Drosera adelae, Nepenthes alata, Pinguicula aphrodite and Sarracenia dana's delight, the traps are similar to flypaper, whose leaves are provided with glands that secrete mucilage, which attract small insects and trap them, because they stick to the leaf and carnivorous plants present their leaves as specialized traps, which serve to capture and digest pests or insects, most arthropods of the insect class, which serve as food and In turn, they use the nutrients of the pests for their growth and development. In addition, it is recommended to use carnivorous plants for the biological control of pest insects in perennial plantations and to carry out research on carnivorous plants, as biological control in perennial crops.es_ES
