dc.description | The disease called "ojo de pollo" or "ojo de gallo" is a coffee plant pathology resulting from the action of the fungus Mycena citricolor and is of economic importance in coffee crop production. The presence of this fungus is accentuated during the rainy season, which creates favorable situations for the spread and propagation of the disease; it begins with the established order of the rains and reaches high stages at the end of the following 12 months. The disease can appear at any time during the vegetative and productive cycle of the crop, but its presence is more noticeable during the wet season, since it is during this period that the fungus fructifies. The information obtained was carried out through the technique of analysis, synthesis and summary, with the purpose of informing the reader about the integrated management of the disease "chicken eye" (Mycena citricolor) in the coffee crop (Coffea arabica, L) in Ecuador. Based on the above, it was determined that the disease "ojo de pollo" or "ojo de gallo" is one of the most important diseases that negatively affects the coffee crop, particularly crops located in areas of higher altitudes than technically recommended, areas of frequent rains and fog, and the use of coffee varieties susceptible to the disease. The fungus Mycena citricolor has as a crucial characteristic the formation of two types of reproductive structures: gems (asexual or anamorphic section) and basidiocarps (sexual or teleomorphic section). Plant varieties tolerant to the "chicken eye" disease. Prune the coffee trees to reduce infections mainly in the lower branches and shoots that could come into contact with the soil. Triazole fungicides are appropriate for the chemical control of "chicken eye" disease, among them, cyproconazole, which has shown efficacy in controlling the pathogen. This is a measure of last resort. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
