Tourism development has become an important factor in our country, since it is focused on improving the quality of life of the population through its actions and activities, this development must satisfy the needs of tourists and in turn protect their opportunities, tourism is a fundamental tool for socioeconomic development because it generates income that leads to economic growth and development of the Canton, this development has to focus on sustainability criteria that is to say that it is economically viable and at the same time equitable from a ethical and social perspective for the community, tourism has to be integrated into the natural environment and also contribute to society in sustainable development. The growth of tourism in a certain place is highly subject to the way its inhabitants use natural resources, the importance they have on their quality of life and subsistence, the objective is to carry out an analysis of tourism development and its impact on the flora and fauna of the Quevedo canton, the methodological strategy was bibliographic and documentary research. The results allowed to identify the importance of tourism development for the community, therefore it is proposed to promote its conservation to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and achieve sustainable tourism in the area. This is because one of the sources of economic income for the population is the development of local tourism, which must be considered considering the vulnerability of ecosystems and respecting and caring for the natural environment, it is necessary to make the population aware of the care and good management of the natural resources it has.es_ES
