Ecuador is the first exporter and fourth producer of bananas in the world, with more than fifty years of experience in the production and export of this coveted fruit. Thanks to the climatic conditions of the country, we have a permanent supply of bananas during the fifty-two weeks of the year, complying with the highest quality standards. The country has 180,000 hectares cultivated in nine provinces of Ecuador, of which Los Ríos, El Oro and Guayas are the most important. In Ecuador, banana producers are adopting the quality system called "GLOBAL GAP CERTIFICATION", which allows them to satisfy the food safety requirements established by their commercial partners. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is currently gaining importance due to the need that organizations have to seek innovative strategies to transcend their scope of work, even more so in agricultural organizations that, due to their crops, must demonstrate responsible work with their internal and external interest groups. The situation of the banana farms in the province of El Oro, and especially in the city of Machala, demands to consider good agricultural practices (GAP) and with it, the possibility of being certified in Global Gap standards, which, due to their conception, meet sensitive areas such as: labor relations, environmental conservation, pollution reduction.es_ES
