dc.descriptionThe objective of the case study is to analyze the use of social networks to promote tourist sites in the Baba canton, Los Ríos province. Baba according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Census of 2010 has an approximate population of 39,681 inhabitants, the oldest canton in the province of Los Ríos known for its history, gastronomy and culture prevailing over the years. Currently, tourism has incorporated social networks in tourism promotion, originating tourism 2.0, reaching tourists directly and encouraging them to visit or purchase the different products and services they offer. For the development of the case study, the different types of descriptive, explanatory and bibliographic research were applied. The methods used were quantitative and qualitative that are aimed at detecting statistical data and qualities of an object of study. The online survey carried out among the inhabitants of the Baba canton resulted in a scarce tourist promotion through the use of social networks, an interview was carried out with the owner of the Rock and Straw tourist complex explaining how he carries out the tourist promotion of his establishment.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl caso de estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el uso de las redes sociales para la promoción de sitios turísticos del cantón Baba provincia de Los Ríos. Baba según datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo del 2010 cuenta con una población aproximada de 39.681 habitantes, el cantón más antiguo de la provincia de Los Ríos conocido por su historia, gastronomía y cultura prevaleciendo a través de los años. Actualmente el turismo ha incorporado a las redes sociales en la promoción turística, originándose el turismo 2.0 logrando llegar a los turistas de una forma directa e incentivando a visitar o adquirir los diferentes productos y servicios que ofrecen. Para el desarrollo del estudio de caso se aplicó los diferentes tipos de investigación descriptiva, explicativa y bibliográfica. Los métodos empleados fueron cuantitativo y cualitativo que están direccionados a detectar datos estadísticos y cualidades de un objeto de estudio. La encuesta online realizada a los habitantes del cantón Baba dio como resultado una escaza promoción turística a través del uso de las redes sociales, se realizó una entrevista al dueño del complejo turístico Rock and Straw exponiendo como realiza la promoción turística de su establecimiento.es_ES
