This case study aims to demonstrate the influence of emotional dependence on depression, since this is a phenomenon that is having a greater impact on the psychosocial life of the individual, in a way that makes it difficult for them to appreciate various stimuli and to receive information due to the different cognitive distortions that emotional dependence could generate. As a reference, it could be explained through attachment theory, which states that the human being is linked to dependence since childhood and the emotional consequence of removing the mother from the child presents the type of emotions that are very similar to rejection or negative response in an individual with emotional dependence, going from anger, anger, to sadness. Within the methodology used, techniques were applied such as: the IDE emotional dependence test to measure the levels of emotional dependence, the Beck test to measure the levels of depression on 3 different scales (mild, moderate and severe) and the Máx Lüscher personality scale which determines the type of personality that the patient possesses. In the development of the case study, it was determined that the patient has severe major depression caused by the emotional dependence that the patient presents, which could also be confirmed by means of the applied techniques. For the aforementioned findings, a therapeutic plan based on the young woman's needs was applied to the patient.es_ES
