dc.descriptionThis investigation was carried out to determine the damage of the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) caused in the production of Citrullus lanatus (watermelon), it showed that this insect is a species of plague with great influence in 17 provinces of Ecuador, causing losses of 25 % to 50% at harvest, it was confirmed that there were 23 hosts, 11 of which were the main host. Susceptibility in the following crops: peppers, tomatoes, melons, watermelons, cucumbers, soybeans and beans. The species of "whitefly" registered at the national level are: Aleurotrixus floccosus in the four regions; Bemisia tabaci and B. argentifolii in the Coast and the Galapagos Islands, and Trialeurodes vaporariorum in the Sierra. In the Babahoyo area, watermelon production has been increasing, the production of which is a source of employment for many people, as a goal the historical analysis of the impact of Whitefly Incidence in watermelon crops is presented below, evaluation of the theoretical basis of whitefly damage in watermelon production, the real situation of the problem is diagnosed in the study, the different types of control that occur in the crop are made known, a little about the watermelon plant the shape of the fruit, the plant, its harvest, the recommendations of the case study are disclosed. Farmers who eradicate whitefly use 34 types of chemicals, sold in the form of insecticides, which have a wide range of effects and are extremely toxic. Another way to eliminate "whiteflies" is to use hymenopteran insects as parasites of insects for biological control, such as: Amitus fuscipennis, Amitus sp., Encarsia nigricephala, Encarsia sp., and Eretmocerus sp.es_ES

dc.description.abstractSe realizó la presente Investigación para determinar el daño de la mosca blanca (Bemisia tabaci) causado en la producción de Citrullus lanatus (sandía), mostró que este insecto es una especie de plaga con gran influencia en 17 provincias del Ecuador, causando pérdidas de 25% a 50% en cosecha, se confirmó que eran 23 hospedantes, 11 de los cuales eran el hospedador principal. Susceptibilidad en los siguientes cultivos: pimientos, tomates, melones, sandías, pepinos, soja y frijoles. Las especies de "mosca blanca" registradas a nivel nacional son: Aleurotrixus floccosus en las cuatro regiones; Bemisia tabaci y B. argentifolii en la Costa y las Islas Galápagos, y Trialeurodes vaporariorum en la Sierra. En la zona de Babahoyo la producción de sandía ha ido en aumento, la producción de la misma la cual es fuente de empleo para muchas personas, como meta se presenta a continuación el análisis histórico del impacto de Incidencia de mosca blanca en cultivos de sandía, evaluación la base teórica del daño de la mosca blanca en la producción de Sandía, se diagnostica la situación real del problema el estudio, se da a conocer los diferentes tipos de control que se da en el cultivo, se da a conocer un poco sobre la planta de sandía la forma del fruto, de la planta, su cosecha, se da a conocer las recomendaciones del caso de estudio. Los agricultores que erradican la mosca blanca utilizan 34 tipos de productos químicos, que se venden en forma de insecticidas, que tienen una amplia gama de efectos y son extremadamente tóxicos. Otra forma de eliminar las "moscas blancas" es utilizar insectos himenópteros como parásitos de los insectos para el control biológico, tales como: Amitus fuscipennis, Amitus Sp., Encarsia Nigricephala, Encarsia Sp., y Eretmocerus Sp.es_ES
