The cultivation of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in Ecuador has generated a great economic and social impact, although this crop is subject to pests and diseases at any time of the year, for that reason it highlights the integrated management of pests by applying different control strategies allowing thus optimal productivity. The plague Sibine sp causes damage to the foliar area of the oil palm crop, causing damage to its production, this pest belongs to the limacodidade family, the main species that attacks the palm crop is that of Sibine fusca, although it can also be present Sibine megasomides Walker. Integrated pest management is the use of various control techniques with the objective of keeping pest populations at low levels so that they do not cause economic losses, preventing these measures from causing negative effects on the crop. In the management of this plague Sibine sp we can find chemical, cultural and biological control, having natural parasitoid enemies that can control this type of plague. The larvae of this pest have gregarious habits in the first instants of their growth, during the day they can be located very easily on the underside of the leaf causing scrapes on the epidermis of the leaf, they continue to feed on the leaf as they they grow leaving only the midrib of the leaflets. dc.description.abstractEl cultivo de palma aceitera (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) en el Ecuador ha generado un gran impacto económico y social aunque este cultivo está sujeto a plagas y enfermedades en cualquier época del año por ese motivo resalta el manejo integrado de plagas aplicando diferentes estrategias de control permitiendo así una productividad óptima.
