Considering that tourism represents one of the main items of economic income worldwide, we can affirm that Ecuador cannot be the exception, since it is a country that has a great natural wealth, the diversity of its four regions has given rise to thousands of species of flora and fauna. Not surprisingly, Ecuador is considered one of the 17 countries where the greatest diversity of the planet is concentrated. It also has a wide range of cultures in its three continental regions (coast, mountains and east) where 13 indigenous nationalities coexist, who have their own worldview of the world.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl turismo hace una importante contribución a las economías de los países en desarrollo, el crecimiento en el sector ha sido más rápido en países subdesarrollados que en los desarrollados, es así que en algunos de ellos es el primer ingreso de su economía En Ecuador la actividad turística ha tenido un crecimiento significativo en las últimas décadas, los atractivos naturales son los más representativos para atraer turistas a nivel mundial. El turista del nuevo milenio no busca simplemente con la complementación pasiva de los atractivos turísticos o con el disfrute del binomio sol/playa, también busca nuevas motivaciones orientadas a la valoración de los aspectos ambientales y autenticidad cultural del destino. Considerando que el turismo representa a nivel mundial uno de los principales rubros de ingresos económicos, podemos afirmar que el Ecuador no puede ser la excepción, puesto que es un país que posee una gran riqueza natural, la diversidad de sus cuatro regiones ha dado lugar a miles de especies de flora y fauna. No en vano el Ecuador está considerado como uno de los 17 países donde está concentrada la mayor diversidad de planeta. Asimismo, posee una amplia gama de culturas en sus tres regiones continentales (costa, sierra y oriente) donde conviven 13 nacionalidades indígenas, que tienen su propia cosmovisión del mundo.
