dc.descriptionThe cultivation of cocoa, (Theobroma cacao L) is of great importance within the Ecuadorian economy, as it is an export product and raw material for local industries. In Ecuador the two varieties of cocoa that are produced are Nacional (fine aroma) and CCN-51 (current). This topic was selected on the basis that the economy of the province of Los Ríos is mainly of agricultural origin, therefore in the Chilintomo Sector there are various crops, among which the one of cocoa is mentioned, which is one of the most frequent in this rural area of the Babahoyo canton. Internally of the actions linked to the use of the cocoa crop (Theobroma cacao), in the area the nurseries have a transcendental importance, since it is the starting point to achieve success later, this applies to any variety of crop. Later in the course of the investigation for this practical study, a tour of the small cocoa plantations owned by the farmers who collaborated with the execution of this exploration was carried out, where a talk could be established with them and they exposed their points of In addition to the different concerns or doubts that they had regarding the topic discussed, it should be noted that this part of the research process took us several weeks for reasons of not interfering in the work of the participating farmers. It was concluded that the majority of farmers dedicated to the production of cocoa in the town of Chilintomo, do not have nurseries and are unaware of the benefits of owning one for their plantations; In this cocoa area of the Babahoyo canton, certain areas are improvised as nurseries in which farmers sometimes result in more losses than gains. dc.description.abstractEl cultivo del cacao, (Theobroma cacao L) tiene gran importancia dentro de la economía del Ecuador, por ser un producto de exportación y materia prima para industrias locales. En Ecuador las dos variedades de cacao que se producen son Nacional (fino de aroma) y CCN-51 (corriente). Este tema se seleccionó en base a que la economía de la provincia de Los Ríos mayormente es de origen agrícola, por lo tal en el Sector de Chilintomo existen diversos cultivos entre los que se menciona el del cacao, el mismo que es uno de los más frecuente en esta zona rural del cantón Babahoyo. Internamente de las acciones unidas al aprovechamiento del cultivo de cacao (Theobroma cacao), en la zona los viveros poseen una trascendental importancia, por cuanto es el sitio de partida para conseguir triunfo posteriormente, esto se aplica para cualquier variedad de cultivo. Posteriormente en el transcurso de la indagación para este estudio practico, se realizó un recorrido por las plantaciones pequeñas de cacao propiedad de los agricultores que colaboraron con la ejecución de esta exploración, donde se pudo entablar una charla con los mismos y expusieron sus puntos de vista, además de las diferentes inquietudes o dudas que ellos poseían en referencia al tema tratado, cabe indicar que esta parte del proceso de investigación nos tomó varias semanas por cuestiones de no interferir en las labores de los agricultores participantes. Se concluyó que la mayoría de agricultores dedicados a la producción de cacao en la localidad de Chilintomo, no poseen viveros y desconocen los beneficios que les otorga el poseer uno para sus plantaciones; en esta zona cacaotera del cantón Babahoyo se improvisan ciertas zonas como viveros en las cuales en ocasiones los agricultores resultan con más pérdidas que ganancias. Por lo tal se recomienda instruir a los agricultores en temas específicos sobre la producción de plantas de cacao en viveros y los procesos que se efectúan en los mismos, así mismo dándoles indicaciones específicas para el proceso de trasplantación.es_ES
