The development of this work was carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo with the aim of learning about the main diseases that occur and affect the cultivation of peas in this agricultural area of the Los Ríos Province. In addition, the phytosanitary controls that must be carried out to mitigate the risk of affecting these crops are identified. Within the general methods applied in this research, the deductive and inductive methods were used, since the hypothesis proposed was verified in the development of the research in order to contribute to the conclusions and recommendations. In the evaluation carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, it was possible to know what diseases affect the cultivation of peas; among which the following were identified: Powdery mildew, Fusarium oxysporum and Ascochyta blight or blight, for which technical measures are proposed to control them, carrying out phytosanitary practices entirely from the field evaluation by the students together with their teachers until the selection of the fungicide to be used at the time the disease occurs. It is important to mention that a program of the types of fungicides that will be used in order to avoid resistance of these pathogens in pea cultivation is carried out. Finally, it is important to establish the periodicity and form in which the preventive measures or the actions to be carried out in the event of a fortuitous situation occur.es_ES
