| dc.description | The present investigation was carried out in the Zapotal parish, Ventanas canton, province of Los Ríos, through an initial exploration in which the decrease of the cognitive functions of the elderly was determined who daily overcome the limitations of their intellectual capacities that have been seen depleted with the passing of the years, in which they refer to the reality of older adults. The respective research had as a general objective to state the effects of the decrease of cognitive functions in the quality of life of the elderly in the Home Care Unit "Smiling Life", Zapotal parish, which was achieved through the specific objectives in which the daily situations that cause the decrease of cognitive functions that negatively affect the quality of life of the elderly were examined. In order to execute the investigation process, the method of the indefinite to the delimited was handled, through the model of the intervention in reality with its relevant levels and periods which allowed the problem to disintegrate, in addition to that, an instrument such as the survey, It was structured and applied to a sample of 60 older adults, 60 relatives and 10 professionals in the area of mental health. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación se efectuó en la parroquia Zapotal, cantón Ventanas, provincia de Los Ríos, mediante una exploración inicial en la cual se determinó la disminución de las funciones cognitivas de los adultos mayores quienes sobrellevan cotidianamente las limitaciones de sus capacidades intelectuales que se han visto mermadas con el pasar de los años, en la que se refieren a la realidad de los adultos mayores. La respectiva investigación tuvo como objetivo general enunciar los efectos de la disminución de las funciones cognitivas en la calidad de vida del adulto mayor en la Unidad de Atención Domiciliaria “Vida Sonriente”, parroquia Zapotal, el mismo que se alcanzó a través de los objetivos específicos en la que se examinó las situaciones cotidianas que ocasionan la disminución de las funciones cognitivas que afectan negativamente la calidad de vida del adulto mayor. Para ejecutar el proceso de investigación se manejó el método de lo indefinido a lo delimitado, a través del modelo de la intervención en la realidad con sus pertinentes niveles y períodos lo que permitieron desintegrar el problema, además de que, un instrumento como la encuesta, fue estructurada y aplicada a una muestra de 60 adultos mayores, 60 familiares y 10 profesionales en el área de la salud mental. | es_ES |
