dc.description	Upon reaching the elderly people are facing a new reality, the roles are changing, the family takes the most important decisions and also must take care of geronte, which in many cases is seen as a "burden" or discomfort “within the home. When the family does not want to take care geronte, opt for the abandonment sometimes the cruelest forms, throwing them in the house or in other cases leaving them in a geriatric center, breaking any communication or bonding with older adults. This work focuses on the quality of life of the elderly and family abandonment Gerontologico Babahoyo Center; exposing its consequences are reflected in low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and other negative feelings, and also affects your physical health by loss of appetite and negativity to receive medication. It has been proposed as a proposal to improve the quality of life of seniors, the development of psychotherapeutic techniques, personalized, couple and group, making a contribution to the institution and society, breaking the paradigms that discriminate against people elderly women, adhering to the rights of vulnerable persons and the rules of Good Living.	es_ES
