| dc.description | The global burden of liver diseases represents 1.5% of annual deaths where liver cirrhosis contributes part of this burden. Below is a case study that focuses its objective on creating a nutritional care process referred to a patient. 44-year-old female with liver cirrhosis. Using assessment tools, estimation formulas and clinical guides applied to the anthropometric, biochemical and dietary components, which will give us an estimate of the patient's current nutritional status. The results of the nutritional care process allowed muscle mass to be preserved in the appropriate percentiles; restore to normal the biochemical indicators that led to the diagnosis of anemia; prevent weight loss, relieve persistent symptoms and reduce the probability of developing complications due to malnutrition. It is concluded that nutritional intervention influences the level of mortality in patients with cirrhosis. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La carga global de las enfermedades hepáticas representa el 1.5% de muertes anuales en donde la cirrosis hepática contribuye en parte de esta carga, a continuación, se presenta un estudio de caso que centra su objetivo en crear un proceso de atención nutricional referido a un paciente femenino de 44 años con cirrosis hepática. Por medio del uso de herramientas de valoración, fórmulas de estimación y guías clínicas aplicadas sobre los componentes antropométricos, bioquímicos y dietéticos, que nos darán un estimado del estado nutricional actual del paciente. Los resultados del proceso de atención nutricional permitieron preservar la masa muscular en los percentiles adecuados; restablecer a la normalidad los indicadores bioquímicos que propiciaron el diagnóstico de anemia; evitar la pérdida de peso, aliviar la sintomatología persistente y disminuir la probabilidad del desarrollo de complicaciones por malnutrición. Se concluye que la intervención nutricional influye sobre el nivel de mortalidad en pacientes con cirrosis. | es_ES |
