Hypothyroidism is a pathology in which the amount of thyroid hormone secreted is not sufficient to meet the metabolic demands of the body. This anomaly, when not treated in time, can cause various difficulties in people who suffer from it, causing problems such as obesity, infertility, heart abnormalities, joint pain, among others. The clinical case presented concerns a 47-year-old female patient with a medical diagnosis of hypothyroidism. She states that she has no family or surgical pathological history, but presents hypothyroidism as a personal pathological history. Through the assessment of the patient's anthropometric indicators, elevated levels of triglycerides of 170 mg/dl, cholesterol of 210 mg/dl were evident, which revealed dyslipidemia and values of thyroxine T4 15 ug/dl, TSH 6.8 mul/L and thyroiodothyronine. T3 of 210 ug/dl, indicators that demonstrated hypothyroidism problems. The results of the monitoring and follow-up allowed us to conclude that, after the nutritional intervention, the patient has presented a considerable reduction in biochemical indicators of cholesterol, triglycerides and thyroid hormones. Also, it has reflected positive changes in the presence of physical/clinical signs of the disease and has presented positive adherence to the diet.es_ES
