| dc.description | This work addressed the issue of the effect on the production of red grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) in the presence of mites. It is worth mentioning that this pest causes potential damage to the fruit of up to 80% and that its effects can be seen in the yield and quality of the fruit of this crop. This pest in citrus areas goes unnoticed, there is no evaluation, monitoring and proper control, as if it were done with the problems of diseases, fertilization, weeds, irrigation and drainage in the crop, without taking into account that The damage caused by mites in grapefruit cultivation has an impact on production estimates and some fruit producers see it as normal damage to this fruit species, due to ignorance and lack of interest in improving its presentation. And quality, production and prices are seriously affected when marketing it locally or for export to North American and European markets, where the fruit has good demand and acceptance by consumers. In this work, alternatives are given for the damage caused by mites and in this way improve their production, with the help of a control based on an adequate and well-organized phytosanitary program in a technical way so that the crop is more efficient in terms of performance, quality and profitability. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Este trabajo abordó el tema sobre el efecto en la producción del cultivo de toronja roja (Citrus paradisi) ante la presencia de los ácaros. Es de mencionar que esta plaga realiza un daño potencial a la fruta hasta en un 80 % y que sus efectos los podemos visualizar en el rendimiento y calidad en la fruta de este cultivo. Esta plaga en las zonas citrícolas pasa de manera desapercibida, no se lleva una evaluacion, monitoreo y un debido control, como si se lo realiza con los problemas de enfermedades, fertilización, malezas, riego y drenaje en el cultivo, sin tomar en cuenta que el daño ocasionado por los ácaros en el cultivo de toronja repercute en los estimativos de producción y que algunos productores de la fruta lo ven como un daño normal de esta especie frutal, y es que debido al desconocimiento y la falta de interés por mejorar su presentación y calidad, se afecta seriamente a la producción y precios al comercializarla de manera local o de exportación hacia los mercados norte americanos y europeos, en donde la fruta tiene buena demanda y aceptación por parte de los consumidores. En este trabajo se da alternativas para los daños que ocasionan los ácaros y de esta manera mejorar su producción, con la ayuda de un control basado en un programa fitosanitario adecuado y bien organizado de forma técnica para que el cultivo sea más eficiente en cuanto a el rendimiento, calidad y rentabilidad. | es_ES |
