Zucchini is an indisputable element in the diet of pre-Columbian peoples, even now in that country the fruit and its flowers are still consumed, with which soups and fillings are made. The general objective was to describe the importance of organic fertilization in the cultivation of Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.). The document was developed with the compilation of all types of information as research on the various web pages, scientific articles, sources and bibliographic repositories available on digital platforms. The conclusions determine that by using organic fertilizers in the cultivation of zucchini, the population and farmers are made aware of the consecutive use of a cleaner and healthier product for consumption, at the same time of using a profitable crop; Worm castings are an organic fertilizer produced by composting organic waste with California red worms, which improves porosity and water retention and increases bacterial colonies. It has the best properties and is an excellent fertilizer due to its properties and composition. The activity of the worms adds value to the substrate, turning it into a complete fertilizer and effective soil conditioner, potentially beneficial for the cultivation of zucchini and this product applied in the production of zucchini, in the 16 weeks it maintained favorable results in all its areas such as plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), leaf circumference (cm), number of leaves, flowering days, numbers of flowers per plant, number of fruits per plant and fruit weight in grams.es_ES
