dc.description | This research was carried out with the purpose of exploring the technological advances related to assisted reproduction in poultry, focusing mainly on the artificial insemination (AI) technique. This technique has revolutionized the world of reproduction, offering new perspectives and solutions in genetic improvement, thus contributing to the conservation of biodiversity and poultry production. In order to make known the challenges faced by producers and conservationists of endangered species, this study was carried out by compiling information from multiple authors who shared the same approach, which allowed a comprehensive approach to the subject, providing a complete vision based on the available scientific literature, in order to contribute to research advances that promote the preservation of genetic material. Among the challenges associated with AI is the underutilization of semen (quality, viability and volume); for this, it is necessary to consider the management of the birds to be trained for this process and thus guarantee fertility levels. Successful cases have been documented over time; however, inconsistent fertilization problems and difficulties in the effective implementation of the technique have been evidenced. Emerging trends indicate a promising future for poultry artificial insemination, therefore, to ensure success, it is necessary to consider a number of factors to ensure the success of the technique. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación se realizó con el fin de explorar los avances tecnológicos relacionados con la reproducción asistida en aves, centrándose de manera principal en la técnica de inseminación artificial (IA). Esta técnica ha revolucionado el mundo de la reproducción, brindando nuevas perspectivas y soluciones en la mejora genética, con lo cual se contribuye a la conservación de la biodiversidad y la producción avícola. Para dar a conocer los desafíos por las cuales se enfrentan los productores y los conservacionistas de especies en peligro de extinción, se llevó a cabo este estudio, se recopiló información de múltiples autores que compartían el mismo enfoque lo que permitió abordar de manera integral el tema proporcionando una visión completa y fundamentada en la literatura científica disponible, para así contribuir en los avances investigativos que permitan promover la preservación de material genético. Entre los desafíos asociados con la IA se destaca la subutilización del semen (la calidad, viabilidad y volumen); para ello, es preciso considerar el manejo de las aves que se van a entrenar para este proceso y así garantizar los niveles de fertilidad. Se han documentado casos exitosos a lo largo del tiempo; no obstante, se han evidenciado problemas de fertilización inconsistentes y dificultades en la implementación efectiva de la técnica. Las tendencias emergentes indican un futuro prometedor para la inseminación artificial aviar, por lo tanto, para asegurar el éxito reproductivo se deben ampliar el número de investigaciones implementando en su desarrollo, un enfoque ético y de bienestar hacia los animales. | es_ES |
