dc.descriptionCocoa comes from South America in Ecuador exactly in the Amazon basin which produces a fruit that is used as an ingredient for different foods and specifically for chocolate. Cocoa and its derivatives have a wide demand internationally, being the raw material for various productions in the chocolate industry. Within marketing, its physical characteristics play a fundamental role in this entire process. The objective of this work is to describe the cocoa marketing chain in our country and to know the socioeconomic impact for producers. The results obtained demonstrate that the actors involved in marketing are farmers, collectors, intermediaries, exporters, distributors and finally consumers who are the ones who already acquire the final product for consumption. The cultivation of cocoa has a significant socioeconomic impact for the country; this fruit is one of the most exported products and has helped both economic growth and the well-being of agricultural populations. The marketing of cocoa in Ecuador is influenced by intermediaries who are the main ones in doing business with farmers, these being the most benefited in the entire marketing process. To prepare the document, information was collected from current documents, virtual libraries, scientific articles and websites, which helped in the contribution of opinions and ideas from authors that allowed studying the development of this research.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl cacao proviene de América del sur en el Ecuador exactamente en la cuenca de la Amazonas el cual produce un fruto que es utilizado como ingrediente para distintos alimentos y específicamente para el chocolate. El cacao y sus derivados cuentan con una amplia demanda a nivel internacional, siendo la materia prima de diversas producciones en la industria del área de la chocolatería. Dentro de la comercialización las características físicas de este juegan un papel fundamental en todo este proceso. El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir la cadena de comercialización del cacao en nuestro país y conocer el impacto socioeconómico para los productores. Los resultados que se obtuvieron demuestran que los actores que participan en la comercialización son agricultores, acopiadores, intermediarios, exportadores, distribuidores y por último los consumidores que son los que ya adquieren el producto final para el consumo. El cultivo de cacao tiene un impacto socioeconómico significativo para el país, este fruto es uno de los productos que mayor se exporta y ha ayudado al crecimiento tanto económico y al bienestar de las poblaciones agrícolas. La comercialización del cacao en el Ecuador es influenciada por los intermediarios los cuales son los principales en hacer negocios con los agricultores, siendo estos los más beneficiados en todo el proceso de comercialización. Para la elaboración del documento se recopilo informacion de documentos actuales, bibliotecas virtuales, artículos científicos y sitios web, que ayudaron en el aporte de opiniones e ideas de autores que permitieron estudiar el desarrollo de la presente investigación.es_ES
