dc.descriptionThe present study is based on prevention and control strategies for foot-and-mouth disease in Ecuador, in which the general objective was to analyze the prevention and control strategies for foot-and-mouth disease in Ecuador. This foot-and-mouth disease is determined clinically by symptoms of fever and the appearance of blisters in the form of ulcers on the oral mucosa, hooves and udders, and the suspicion is confirmed by specific laboratory tests. In reference to the methodology, the descriptive investigative method that is emphasized in the documentary approach was applied. Based on the analysis of the different authors cited, it has been determined that foot-and-mouth disease as a pathology in animals has caused disturbances and complications regarding the commercial issue of derivatives of cloven-hoofed cattle, this has caused uncertainty in society due to the economic losses it causes, essentially in areas where livestock farming is the main source of financial income. In conclusion, the strategies carried out in Ecuador for the prevention and control of foot-and-mouth disease have been analyzed, executing the vaccination program for susceptible livestock in a systematic manner in order to reduce the spread of the pathology. Managing to declare Ecuador since 2015 “Country free of foot-and-mouth disease with vaccination.”es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio está basado en estrategias de prevención y control de la fiebre aftosa en el Ecuador, en el cual se planteó como objetivo general analizar las estrategias de prevención y control de la fiebre aftosa en el Ecuador. Esta enfermedad de la fiebre aftosa se determina clínicamente por síntomas de fiebre y la aparición de ampollas en forma de úlceras en la mucosa oral, en las pezuñas y en las ubres y se confirma la sospecha mediante pruebas específicas de laboratorio. En referencia a la metodología, se aplicó el método investigativo descriptivo que se enfatiza en el enfoque documental. En base al análisis de los distintos autores citados, se ha determinado que la fiebre aftosa como patología en los animales ha originado perturbaciones y complicaciones en cuanto el tema comercial de los derivados del ganado de pezuñas hendidas, esto ha causado incertidumbre en la sociedad debido a las pérdidas económicas que provoca, esencialmente en las zonas donde la ganadería es la principal fuente de ingreso financiero. En conclusión, se han analizado las estrategias llevadas a cabo en el Ecuador para la prevención y control de la fiebre aftosa, ejecutando el programa de vacunación del ganado susceptible de forma sistematizada para poder reducir la propagación de la patología. Logrando declarar al ecuador desde el 2015 “País libre de fiebre aftosa con vacunación”.es_ES
