The green pepper aphid M. persicae is a small insect with a polyphagous and sucking habit. It causes weakening, and subsequent decrease in the production of its host. In high populations it causes yellowing to the plant. The objective of this work is to refer to the damage that it causes and to report the forms of control of M. persicae in the pepper crop. M. persicae, the green pepper aphid, is a small insect with a polyphagous and sucking habit that causes direct and indirect damage by feeding on the sap of its host. In high populations it causes yellowing to the plant. In addition, it is the cause of the coating of the leaves by micellar growth of the Capnodium fungus. The control methods used for the green aphid M. persiae are natural biological control, control through botanical extracts and chemicals. This last method of control is recommended with just the presence of it in the pepper crop. No national literature was found indicating which method has been proven or the threshold to be used at the time of evaluating M. persicae. Given these evidences, it is concluded. In our country, this insect does not have action thresholds or sampling methods for M. persicae in pepper cultivation. The chemical control method is recommended as the only effective alternative.es_ES
