For the experimental work in the greenhouse, the Marketmore variety cucumber was used as planting material, considered as treatments the drop to one stem, these pruning treatments evaluated with 10 repetitions. The comparison of the averages will be carried out with the Tukey test at 5% probability, the data evaluated were days to flowering, presence of male flowers, days to the beginning of picking, days to the beginning of cutting, commercial production and fruit quality. . The number of fruits per plant in Treatment B, with crop drop to two stems, eliminating the apical point of the main stem at the beginning of the drop, leaving two lateral arms, was higher compared to treatments A and C, its implementation being recommended for presenting also a greater diameter in the fruit.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl cultivo del pepino (Cucumis sativus L.) es considerado una planta de gran importancia económica por su numeroso índice de consumo, pues sirve tanto de alimento fresco como industrializado, por esto se va a evaluar la respuesta del cultivo utilizando dos sistemas de poda, el trabajo experimental se realizo en el invernadero de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo. Para el trabajo experimental en invernadero se empleó como material de siembra el pepino variedad Marketmore, considerado como tratamientos el descuelgue a un tallo, estos tratamientos de poda evaluados con 10 repeticiones. La comparación de los promedios se efectuará con la prueba de Tukey al 5% de probabilidad, los datos evaluados fueron días a floración, presencia de flores masculinas, días a inicio de descuelgue, días a inicio de corte, producción comercial y calidad del fruto. . El número de frutos por planta en el Tratamiento B, con descuelgue del cultivo a dos tallos, eliminando al inicio del descuelgue el punto apical del tallo principal dejando dos brazos laterales, fue mayor respecto a los tratamientos A y C, recomendándose su implementación por presentar también un mayor diámetro en el fruto.es_ES
