dc.descriptionWork stress is linked to the demands demanded by the environment in which an individual who is working in a certain field develops. For working students, this type of stress can have a significant impact on their academic performance. In the present case study, the situation of work stress and academic performance in a student of the Jaime Roldós Aguilera Educational Unit is analyzed, with the objective of determining the incidence of work stress in the school performance of said student. The techniques and instruments used; They were the student grade record, structured interview, direct observation, medical history, the stress vulnerability questionnaire, and the Holmes-Rahe stress scale. This inquiry maintains a mixed approach with a non-experimental design and a correlational inquiry category. Serving this methodology as a starting point to define the therapeutic approach to work on the student. The findings obtained from the psychological evaluation carried out with the adolescent, denoted high levels of stress in the student, together with signs and symptoms of anxiety, and likewise school grades that framed him within a status of low response to educational demands. These results, in turn, allowed us to determine a fundamental incidence of work stress in the current academic development of the student, which is also associated with the precarious situation that the student experiences at home due to the health of one of his parents.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl estrés laboral está vinculado a las exigencias que demanda el medio o ambiente en el que se desenvuelve un individuo que está laborando en determinado campo. En el caso de los estudiantes que trabajan, este tipo de estrés puede repercutir significativamente en su rendimiento académico. En el presente estudio de caso, se analiza la situación de estrés laboral y rendimiento académico en un estudiante de la Unidad Educativa Jaime Roldós Aguilera, con el objetivo de determinar la incidencia del estrés laboral en el desempeño escolar de tal estudiante. Las técnicas e instrumentos utilizados; fueron el registro de calificaciones del estudiante, entrevista estructurada, observación directa, historia clínica, el cuestionario de vulnerabilidad al estrés y la escala de estrés de Holmes-Rahe. Manteniendo esta indagación un enfoque mixto con un diseño no experimental y una categoría de indagación correlacional. Sirviendo esta metodología como punto de partida para definir el enfoque terapéutico a trabajar en el educando. Los hallazgos obtenidos de la evaluación psicológica realizada con el adolescente, denotaron niveles altos de estrés en el educando, junto a signos y síntomas de ansiedad, y de igual manera calificaciones escolares que lo enmarcaban dentro de un estatus de baja respuesta a las demandas educativas. Estos resultados a su vez, permitieron determinar una incidencia fundamental del estrés laboral en el desenvolvimiento académico actual del estudiante, el cual se asocia además a la situación precaria que vivencia el alumno en su hogar por la salud de uno de sus progenitores.es_ES
