dc.descriptionFloriculture is a science that has been developed over time, resulting in productivity and economic development for the countries that practice this crop, with countries such as Holland, Colombia and Ecuador being the 3 main flower exporting countries, and the United States, Russia, Netherlands, these being the largest importers worldwide. Ecuador heads the list of the largest exporters of flowers, being third in the list worldwide, satisfying almost 10% of world demand and second in Latin America, the flower sector in Ecuador has established itself as one of the most representative items for outside the country. That is why this work was carried out with the objective of detailing the effects caused by COVID-19, through a study of flower exports to know the economic impact in the 2018-2021 period. The present investigation used a qualitative methodology due to the fact that bibliographical references of several authors were used to support the investigation; data on flower exports was also collected to verify the effects caused by Covid-19 in this sector. It was verified with the data obtained that there was a decrease in flower exports of approximately 7.39% in 2020 compared to the previous year, the decrease in exports was affected by the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, since there was a worldwide paralysis as a result of low demand for flowers, in addition, work was paralyzed and markets were closed.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa floricultura es una ciencia que se ha venido desarrollando a través del tiempo dando como resultados una productividad y un desarrollo económico para los países que practican este cultivo, siendo países como Países Bajos, Colombia y Ecuador los 3 principales países exportadores de flores, y Estados Unidos, Rusia, Países Bajos, siendo estos los mayores importadores a nivel mundial. Ecuador encabeza la lista de los mayores exportadores de flores, siendo tercero en la lista a nivel mundial, satisfaciendo casi el 10 % de la demanda global y segundo a nivel de Latina América, el sector florícola en el ecuador se ha consolidado como uno de los rubros más representativos para el ingreso de divisas del país. Es por esto que el presente trabajo se realizó con el objetivo de detallar los efectos ocasionados por el COVID-19, mediante un estudio de las exportaciones florícolas para conocer el impacto económico en el periodo 2018-2021. La presente investigación se empleó una metodología cualitativa debido a que se utilizó referencias bibliográficas de varios autores para fundamentar la investigación, también se recopilo datos de exportaciones florícolas para comprobar los efectos ocasionados del Covid-19 en este sector. Se comprobó con los datos conseguidos que hubo una disminución en las exportaciones de flores de aproximadamente de un 7.39 % en 2020 en comparaciones con el año anterior, la disminución en las exportaciones se vio afectada por la crisis económica causada por la pandemia, ya que hubo una paralización mundial como consecuente una escasa demanda de flores, además se paralizo la mano de obra y se dio el cierre de mercados.es_ES
