Lung cancer is currently a public health problem, due to its high prevalence and mortality worldwide; its incidence is reflected more in men with respect to women, the majority of diagnosed cases have as background the consumption of harmful substances such as tobacco, being the main factor causing this disease. Lung cancer not only affects the lungs of the individual but also their nutritional status due to various factors such as medical treatment (chemotherapy and radiotherapy) that deteriorate the quality of life of these people. The purpose of this research project was to carry out a process of nutritional care for a 59-year-old male patient with lung cancer in order to improve his nutritional status, through which the nutritional status was evaluated through anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical indicators. /physical and dietary, where low weight, anemia, signs of malnutrition were reflected and the intake provided did not cover the patient's energy requirements, a therapeutic and educational diet plan was developed, according to the nutritional needs of the patient and prescribed an individualized, high-calorie, high-protein diet divided into five meal times that included nutritional supplementation twice a day. A follow-up was carried out to verify the changes obtained through the nutritional intervention plan, obtaining very favorable results in the patient's health status at the anthropometric, biochemical, clinical/physical and dietary levels, fully complying with each proposed objective.es_ES
