dc.descriptionThe most recurrent cause among cases of liver cirrhosis is caused by the abuse of alcohol intake and/or disproportion in food, these causes combined with more factors compromise the lives of several people annually; Next, a case study is presented about a 52-year-old male patient diagnosed with liver cirrhosis, to whom a nutritional care process is applied, with which it was possible to determine depletion of muscle mass, severe weight loss, decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit levels. Based on the data obtained in the assessment of nutritional status and the guidelines provided by ESPEN and other references, the patient is prescribed a hypocaloric diet with a contribution of 1900 kcal per day, with a distribution of 58% carbohydrates, 15 % protein and 27% fat. The monitoring duration of the nutritional plan took a period of 4 months, with periodic evaluation of 30 days to make modifications in the treatment and/or redirect the short-term objectives. During this period, it was possible to demonstrate improvement in symptoms and mood compared to the initial assessment, regulation of the biochemical parameters of hemoglobin and hematocrit, in addition to a weight gain of 3 kg.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa causa más recurrente entre los casos de cirrosis hepática es provocada por el abuso en la ingesta de alcohol y/o desproporción en la alimentación, estas causas combinadas a más factores comprometen la vida de varias personas anualmente; A continuación, se presenta un caso de estudio acerca de un paciente masculino de 52 años con diagnóstico de cirrosis hepática, al que se le aplica un proceso de atención nutricional, con el que se pudo determinar depleción de la masa muscular, pérdida de peso severa, niveles de hemoglobina y hematocritos disminuidos. Con base en los datos obtenidos en la valoración del estado nutricional y a las guías proporcionadas por la ESPEN y otras referencias, al paciente se le prescribe una dieta hipocalórica con un aporte de 1900 kcal por día, con una distribución de 58% en carbohidratos, 15% proteína y 27% grasa. La duración de monitoreo del plan nutricional tomo un periodo de 4 meses, con evaluación periódica de 30 días a fin de realizar modificaciones en el tratamiento y/o redirigir los objetivos a corto plazo. Durante este lapso se pudo demostrar mejoría en la sintomatología y estado anímico respecto a la valoración inicial, regulación en los parámetros bioquímicos de hemoglobina y hematocritos, además de una ganancia de peso de 3 kg.es_ES
