dc.descriptionThis case study, entitled "Analysis for the development of a Data Mart, using the Power BI tool to improve decision-making in the area of dental consultations in the "Quimi Dental" office located in the city of Babahoyo" aims to improve decision making in the area of dental consultations. This work involves analyzing the needs and requirements of the business area, contains theoretical bases on business intelligence, for the analysis the Hephaestus development methodology was used. The methodology that was carried out is qualitative research in order to obtain accurate information, with an interview technique to the owner of the Quimi Dental company through open questions for the collection of information. It is verified that the reports of the dental consultation area are made in monthly spreadsheets, but there is no report with historical information. Finally, the design that the Data Mart must have was obtained to satisfy the needs of the dental consultation area of the Quimi Dental company, with which it will improve decision-making within it, justifying itself with real information. In addition, the design of the technological architecture was proposed. It ends with a series of conclusions about the benefits that can be obtained through this technology.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente caso de estudio, titulado “análisis para el desarrollo de un Data Mart, mediante la herramienta Power BI para mejorar la toma de decisiones en el área consultas odontológicas del consultorio “Quimi Dental” ubicada en la ciudad de Babahoyo” tiene como propósito mejorar la toma de decisiones en el área consultas odontológicas. Este trabajo involucra analizar la necesidad y requerimientos del área de negocio, contiene bases teóricas sobre la inteligencia de negocios, para el análisis se empleó la metodología de desarrollo Hefestos. La metodología que se utilizó es la investigación cualitativa con el fin de obtener información precisa, con técnica de entrevista al propietario de la empresa Quimi Dental a través de preguntas abiertas para la recolección de información. Se verificó que los reportes del área consultas odontológicas se realizan en hojas de cálculo mensuales, pero no se cuenta con un reporte con información histórica. Además se obtuvo el diseño que debe tener el Data Mart para satisfacer las necesidades del área consultas odontológicas de la empresa Quimi Dental, con el cual mejorará la toma de decisiones dentro de esta, justificándose con información real. Además, se planteó el diseño de la arquitectura tecnológica. Se finaliza con una serie de conclusiones sobre los beneficios que se pueden obtener a través de esta tecnología.es_ES
