| dc.description | Pulmonary fibrosis is nothing more than a disease that affects the lower respiratory tract and its main characteristic and therefore the most important is the healing of the lung tissues, in this way the normal passage of air into the blood is considerably reduced, affecting the person who suffers from it. Among its main symptoms are dyspnea, dry cough and precordial pain, among others, and they vary from person to person. The damage caused by fibrosis in the lungs is irreversible, so the main objective of the treatment applied to patients with pulmonary fibrosis is to improve, reduce symptoms, and slow down the progression of the disease. Although some patients according to their requirement may opt for lung transplantation. Among the main risk factors is sex, since it affects the male sex more, and it is usually diagnosed more from 50 to 80 years of age. In some, the onset of the disease is gradual, it can occur over the course of months or years, in others its onset is rapid, presenting a serious picture of the disease. | dc.description.abstract | La fibrosis pulmonar no es otra cosa que una enfermedad que afecta las vías respiratorias inferiores y su principal característica y por ende la más importante es la cicatrización de los tejidos pulmonares de esta forma se reduce considerablemente el paso normal del aire hacia la sangre afectando a la persona que la padece. Entre sus principales síntomas están disnea, tos seca y dolor precordial entre otras y que varían de persona en persona. El daño producido por la fibrosis en los pulmones es irreversible por lo que el objetivo principal del tratamiento que es aplicado a los pacientes con fibrosis pulmonar es el de mejorar, disminuir los síntomas, y enlentecer el avance de la enfermedad. Aunque algunos pacientes según su requerimiento pueden optar por trasplante de pulmón. Entre los principales factores de riesgo está el sexo ya que afecta más al sexo masculino, y por lo general se diagnostica más a partir de los 50 a 80 años. En algunos la aparición de la enfermedad es paulatina puede darse en el transcurso de meses o años, en otros su aparición es de forma rápida presentando un cuadro grave de la enfermedad.
