| dc.description | This case study seeks the analysis of digital media, new technologies and the development of digital journalism that is of utmost importance for the dissemination of rapid information for the benefit of the society of the Canton Ventanas Province of Los Ríos. To know the needs and opinions of the population, a survey was conducted with various questions based on digital media versus traditional media and it was found that citizens prefer digital media and social networks to be in constant communication. In the Canton of Ventanas, Province of Los Ríos, the digitalization of the media began when the global pandemic, caused by Covid-19, abruptly changed the socio-comunicacional reality, that is, the digital media played a fundamental role in the dissemination of information to be immediate and timely. Society saw this new mode of communication as optimal because all the events that were taking place were already being shared on various social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Without a doubt, the advancement of technology is a phenomenon that has helped people's lives where basically all human activity takes place around the internet and new technologies. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente caso de estudio busca el análisis de los medios de comunicación digital, las nuevas tecnologías y el desarrollo del periodismo digital que es de suma importancia para la difusión de rápida información para beneficio de la sociedad del Cantón Ventanas Provincia de los Ríos. Para conocer las necesidades y opiniones de la población se realizó una encuesta con diversas preguntas en base a los medios digitales versus los medios tradicionales y se pudo encontrar que la ciudadanía prefiere los medios digitales y las redes sociales para estar en constante comunicación. En el Cantón Ventanas Provincia de Los Ríos la digitalización de los medios de comunicación empezó cuando la pandemia mundial, originada por el Covid-19, cambió abruptamente la realidad socio-comunicacional, es decir que los medios de comunicación digital jugaron un papel fundamental en la difusión de información al ser inmediata y oportuna. La sociedad vio esta nueva modalidad de comunicación como óptima porque todos los sucesos que se desarrollaban ya estaban siendo compartidos por diversas plataformas sociales como Facebook y Twitter. Sin duda, el avance de la tecnología es un fenómeno que ha ayudado a la vida de las personas donde básicamente toda actividad humana se desarrolla en torno a internet y las nuevas tecnologías. | es_ES |
