| dc.description | This study analyzed the information treatment in the digital platforms Instagram and Facebook of the newspapers El Universo and Extra, after the decision of the Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, to leave the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, due to mental health problems. The aforementioned social networks were considered, because they are a source of massive information that manages to influence the way people think and act, also because the issue of mental health has been considered for years as a taboo. To collect the information, it was necessary to apply the quantitative and qualitative methodology, by means of exploratory, descriptive, diagnostic and documented research, by means of the technique of data collection observation, the subject of study was the news of the media mentioned above, about the decision of Biles in July 27 and 28 of this year, obtaining 2 informative pieces between both newspapers. Where, the results found showed that there are few pieces about this fact, identifying that the media gives little space to this problem, allowing it to go unnoticed, because of this is recommended a few steps for the appropriate journalistic treatment on this topic. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Dentro de este estudio se analizó el tratamiento informativo en las plataformas digitales Instagram y Facebook de los diarios El Universo y Extra, tras la decisión de la Gimnasta Olímpica Simone Biles, de abandonar los Juegos Olímpicos Tokio 2020, por problemas de salud mental. Se consideró las mencionadas redes sociales, debido a que son una fuente información masiva que logra incidir en la forma de pensar y actuar de las personas, asimismo porque el tema de la salud mental se ha considerado por años como un tabú. Para levantar la información fue necesario aplicar la metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa, por medio de la investigación exploratoria, descriptiva, diagnóstica y documentada, mediante la técnica de recopilación de datos observación, el sujeto de estudio fueron las noticias de los medios antes mencionados, sobre la decisión de Biles en los días 27 y 28 de julio del presente año, obteniendo 2 piezas informativas entre ambos periódicos. En donde, los resultados encontrados demostraron que son pocas las piezas sobre este hecho, identificando que los medios le dan poco espacio a esta problemática, permitiendo que pase desapercibido, debido a esto se recomienda unos pasos para el adecuado tratamiento periodístico sobre este tema. | es_ES |
