| dc.description | The present research was carried out in the Bimbe del Toachi enclosure of the Parish, Santa María del Toachi of the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas canton, through a descriptive study it was sought to investigate what is the influence of digital media on the virtual education of adolescents of the aforementioned Enclosure. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the education system has undercame harsh changes, one of them was the application of virtual education models applied to students, where teachers, authorities, parents and students themselves have had to overcome numerous difficulties. These difficulties were increased in the rural areas of the country where already before the pandemic there was little access to digital media and tools applied to the learning process, so when migrating face-to-face classes to the virtual environment there was a great problem. Through the analysis of surveys applied to students and parents, it was possible to determine that there is an inappropriate use of digital media in virtual education by adolescents of the Bimbe del Toachi campus due to a low level of digital competence of both parents and students, this is partly a consequence of the lack of use of digital media in the education of rural institutions much before virtual education was implemented due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So it represented a great challenge of adaptation of students, parents and teachers to the virtual modality and that in many aspects have not been able to overcome even these problems. Therefore, it is essential that both adolescents and parents are informed about digital media and their uses since these will be of great importance when face-to-face classes are resumed, because in future educational models it is possible that the use of digital media will be used as a necessary complement in the educational process. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación se realizó en el recinto Bimbe del Toachi de la Parroquia, Santa María del Toachi del cantón Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, mediante un estudio descriptivo se buscó indagar cual es la influencia de los medios digitales en la educación virtual de los adolescentes del Recinto mencionado. Desde el inicio de la pandemia el sistema educativo sobrellevo duros cambios, uno de ellos fue la aplicación de los modelos de educación virtual aplicado a los estudiantes, donde profesores, autoridades, padres de familia y los propios alumnos han tenido que soslayar numerosas dificultades. Estas dificultades se vieron acrecentadas en las zonas rurales del país en donde ya antes de la pandemia existía un escaso acceso a medios y herramientas digitales aplicadas al proceso de aprendizaje, por lo que al momento de migrar las clases presenciales al entrono virtual se presentó una gran problemática. Mediante el análisis de encuestas aplicadas a estudiantes y padres de familia se pudo determinar que existe un uso inadecuado de los medios digitales en la educación virtual por parte de los adolescentes del recinto Bimbe del Toachi debido a un bajo nivel de competencia digital tanto de padres de familia como de alumnos, esto en parte es consecuencia a la falta de uso de los medios digitales en la educación de instituciones rurales mucho antes de implementarse la educación virtual a causa de la pandemia por Covid-19. Por lo que representó un gran reto de adaptación de alumnos, padres y docentes a la modalidad virtual y que en muchos aspectos no se han podido superar aun dichas problemáticas. Por lo cual se hace imprescindible que tanto adolescentes y padres de familia se informen sobre los medios digitales y sus usos ya que estos resultaran de gran importancia cuando se retomen las clases presenciales, debido a que en futuros modelos educativos es posible que se recurra al uso de medios digitales como un complemento necesario en el proceso educativo. | es_ES |
