dc.descriptionDiabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and stroke are chronic non-communicable diseases that affect a person's nutritional status causing multiple conditions that complicate their health. The following clinical case deals with a 69-year-old male patient, with type II diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and sequelae of cerebrovascular accident, according to the general data provided by the patient's relatives, it indicates that he is married, has 6 children, his levels of studies carried out were until elementary school, he is dedicated to agriculture and is of Ecuadorian nationality. An anthropometric assessment was performed where the following data were obtained: weight 79.54kg, height 170cm, waist 106.5cm, hip 99cm, arm circumference 30.5cm, calf circumference 34cm and wrist circumference 18cm; Analyzing these data, the patient is overweight, which is evidenced by the BMI of 27.52kg / m2 and a high risk of suffering from cardiovascular diseases, which was assessed by the ICC of 1.07. In the same way, his blood pressure was taken 150/105 mmHg, which is elevated; According to the biochemical parameters, both glucose (190mg / dl) and triglycerides (210) are above normal values, with respect to the clinical evaluation the mouth and the extremities were asymmetric due to the sequelae of the cerebrovascular accident and due to Lastly, the dietary evaluation showed elevated amounts of carbohydrates and fats as reflected in the 24-hour recall. He was prescribed a dash diet for semi-solid diabetics of 1900kcal divided into 5 times of daily meals with a sodium intake of 1500mg, this nutritional intervention aims to provide the necessary nutrients through a healthy diet to reduce high levels of glucose and blood pressure in order to avoid health complications.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa diabetes mellitus, hipertensión arterial y el accidente cerebrovascular son enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles que afectan el estado nutricional de una persona causando múltiples afecciones que complican su salud. El siguiente caso clínico trata de un paciente masculino de 69 años de edad, con diabetes mellitus tipo II, hipertensión arterial y secuelas de accidente cerebrovascular, según los datos generales proporcionados por familiares del paciente nos indica que es casado, tiene 6 hijos, sus niveles de estudios realizados fueron hasta la primaria, se dedica a la agricultura y es de nacionalidad ecuatoriana. Se le realizo una valoración antropométrica donde se obtuvieron los siguientes datos: peso de 79,54kg, talla 170cm, cintura 106,5cm, cadera 99cm, circunferencia del brazo 30,5cm, circunferencia de la pantorrilla 34cm y circunferencia de la muñeca 18cm; analizando estos datos el paciente se encuentra con sobrepeso el cual es evidenciado por el IMC de 27,52kg/m2 y un riesgo alto de padecer enfermedades cardiovasculares el mismo que se valoró por el ICC de 1,07. De la misma manera se le tomo la presión arterial 150/105 mmHg la cual esta elevada; según los parámetros bioquímicos tanto la glucosa (190mg/dl) como los triglicéridos (210) se encuentran por encima de los valores normales, con respecto a la evaluación clínica la boca y las extremidades se encontraban asimétricas debido a las secuelas del accidente cerebrovascular y por último la evaluación dietética se mostraron elevadas las cantidades de carbohidratos y grasas según lo refleja el recordatorio de 24 horas. Se le prescribió una dieta dash para diabético semisólida de 1900kcal fraccionada en 5 tiempos de comidas diarias con una ingesta de sodio de 1500mg, esta intervención nutricional tiene como objetivo aportar nutrientes necesarios mediante una alimentación saludable para disminuir los elevados niveles de glucosa y de tensión arterial con el fin evitar complicaciones en la salud.es_ES
