Various findings indicate that there are biological alternatives that can control the pest attack through the application of beneficial organisms such as Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae. The conclusions are as follows: C. ochromactonus causes two initial attacks, on the stem or upper branches of the raft, and in the latter, depending on the amount of perforations, symptoms such as wilting and death of the foliage occur, with a subsequent massive attack throughout the shaft. Attacks by C. ochromactonus are directed at trees with average growth diameters between 17.50 and 20.10 cm; the efficacy of the Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae organisms, used as a control alternative for C. ochromactonus which presented average values that are over 80%, with mortality averages 55% to 100%; The incidence of C. ochromactonus attack is concentrated in all plantation ages, in localities with different ecological conditions, attacking 3-year-old plantations with greater intensity.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa investigación tarta sobre las alternativas biológicas para el manejo de Coptoborus ochromactonus en el cultivo de Balsa (Ochroma pyramidale); este es un insecto que ataca el cultivo de balsa, provocando reducción en los rendimientos. Diversos hallazgos señalan que existen alternativas biológicas que pueden controlar el ataque de la plaga mediante la aplicación de organismos benéficos como Beauveria bassiana y Metarhizium anisopliae. Las conclusiones son las siguientes: C. ochromactonus causa dos ataques iniciales, en el fuste o ramas superiores de la balsa, y en este último, dependiendo de la cantidad de perforaciones se producen síntomas como marchitez y muerte del follaje, con un posterior ataque masivo en todo el fuste. Los ataques de C. ochromactonus están dirigido a árboles con diámetros de crecimiento promedio de entre 17.50 y 20.10 cm; la eficacia de los organismo Beauveria bassiana y Metarhizium anisopliae, utilizados como alternativa de control para C. ochromactonus el cual presentaron valores promedios que están sobre el 80 %, con promedios de mortalidad 55% al 100%; La incidencia del ataque del C. ochromactonus se encuentra concentrado en todas las edades de plantaciones, en localidades con diferentes condiciones ecológicas, atacando con mayor intensidad las plantaciones de 3 años de edad.es_ES
