The present clinical case study is focused on the health status of a 60-year-old male patient, who entered the emergency area and was referred for consultation presenting with cough with expectoration, fever, vomiting, worsening with shortness of breath and chest pain, with an oxygen saturation of 85%. Several procedures and techniques were used to follow up and obtain the definitive diagnosis in order to provide the corresponding treatment, resulting in bacterial pneumonia. Bacterial pneumonia is a serious infection, if not diagnosed early, as it generates symptoms such as: fever, vomiting, cough with phlegm, and difficulty breathing that arises from a cold or flu that does not heal or worsens over time. caused by the bacterium streptococcus pneumoniae. Bacterial pneumonia is an infection that occurs in one or both lungs. Bacteria cause the air sacs in the lungs (alveoli) to swell and fill with pus or fluid. Once diagnosed, she was treated with a simple mask administered with 4 liters per minute and with antibiotics such as: (Amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, Cefuroxime, Azithromycin). The main objective of the case is to establish the indicated treatment according to the clinical picture presented by the patient. It is concluded that bacterial pneumonia is a disease that affects people of all ages and presenting difficulty in breathing. Bacterial pneumonia can be acquired in the environment or in the hospital setting and can even be more severe than normal in people with chronic diseases and a weakened immune system.es_ES
