dc.descriptionThe purpose of this clinical case is to know the status of the 63-year-old patient who comes to the health home being treated by the emergency area of the Guasmo Sur general hospital. Presenting a mild headache, cough, hyporexia and moderate dyspnea, to which corticosteroids such as dexamethasone 8mg were administered every day under the observation and assessment of health personnel. Support of oxygen support is provided by a simple mask at 3lt, for which the patient does not show improvement and presents tachypnea, dyspnea at minimal efforts, the oxygen therapy method is changed by means of a mask with reservoirs at 15lt, intravenous for the control of fluid therapy by The nursing staff places the patient in the prone position to improve their respiratory mechanics, after performing the corresponding examinations, the diagnosis of respiratory failure was reached, the present clinical case seeks to justify the importance of knowing how to handle patients with respiratory failure with proper fluid therapy controls accompanied by oxygen therapy, and educating the patient on self-care to alleviate their symptoms with care in order to avoid further complications, with the objectives of reviewing, identifying and promoting self-care based on the diagnosis and due management with insufficient res piratoryes_ES

dc.description.abstractEste caso clínico tiene la finalidad de conocer el estado del paciente de 63 años de edad que acude a la casa d salud siendo atendido por el área de emergencia del hospital general Guasmo Sur. Presentando un cuadro de cefalea leve, tos, hiporexia y disnea moderada, a lo cual se procede a administrar corticoides tales como dexametasona 8mg cada día bajo la observación y valoración del personal de salud. Se brinda apoyo de soporte de oxígeno por mascarilla simple a 6lt por lo cual el paciente no muestra mejoría y presenta taquipnea, disnea a mínimo esfuerzos se cambia el método de oxigenoterapia por medio de mascarilla con reservorios a 15lt, intravenosa para el control de fluidoterapia por medio del personal de enfermería se coloca a paciente en posición prono para mejorar su mecánica respiratoria, después de realizarse los exámenes correspondientes se llegó al diagnóstico de insuficiencia respiratoria por neumonía en la comunidad , el presente caso clínico busca justificar la importancia que tiene de conocer cómo se debe manejar a pacientes con insuficiencia respiratoria con los debidos controles de fluidoterapia acompañado de oxigenoterapia, y el educar al paciente los autocuidados para aliviar su sintomatología con los cuidados para de esta manera evitar mayores complicaciones teniendo como objetivos revisar, identificar y promover el autocuidado basándose al diagnóstico y el debido manejo con insuficiencia respiratoriaes_ES
