In this case study, acute respiratory failure is addressed in a 60-year-old male patient who attends the emergency area of the health center with a family member (son) due to a clinical picture of fever, general malaise, dry cough, last 72 hours accompanied by respiratory distress at maximum effort. The objective of this study is to determine the appropriate therapeutic management for the acute respiratory failure that the patient presents, after having obtained a certain diagnosis by the different tests that were performed. The follow-up and therapeutic management carried out in this case study, due to the existence of a main risk factor, which is COVID-19 pneumonia, had a favorable outcome in the patient, being the administration of oxygen (OXYGENOTHERAPY) in an adequate way and the main therapeutic strategy presented in the patient was timely, avoiding iatrogenic consequences or other complications that cause mortality.es_ES
