dc.description | Community-acquired pneumonia is an acute inflammatory process of the lung parenchyma of infectious origin; microorganisms can reach the lung by different routes: micro-aspirations of oropharyngeal secretions, which are the most frequent, inhalation of contaminated aerosols, hematic route or by contiguity. They can affect patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, immunosuppressed patients, and patients with Diabetes mellitus and can occur either inside or outside a hospital institution. Community-acquired pneumonia can affect anyone, but the two age groups at greatest risk for it are Children 2 years of age and younger and people 65 years of age and older. The general objective of the clinical case study was to present the diagnostic methods in community-acquired pneumonia, for which, through observation and data collection, a patient with said pathology was chosen, using the Diagnostic methodology, the physical examination assessment verifying their symptoms, complementing with laboratory tests and a Chest X-ray for confirmation of the pathology. In addition, a follow-up of the case was carried out to analyze the evolution of the patient through the prescribed treatment plan, whether pharmacological and respiratory therapy to verify his recovery or the possible complications that may occur during said treatment due to risk at the age of the patient. dc.description.abstract | La neumonía adquirida en la comunidad es un proceso inflamatorio agudo del parénquima pulmonar de origen infeccioso, los microorganismos pueden llegar al pulmón por vías diferentes: micro aspiraciones de secreciones oro faríngeas que son las más frecuentes, inhalación de aerosoles contaminados, vía hemática o por contigüidad. | es_ES |
