The cornea is that layer that we find in the anterior part of the eyeball, being protective of internal elements that make it up, it does not have blood vessels which makes it a tissue with an absence of color. Another of the main characteristics is that it has the main responsibility of the optical power that we have and allows the free entry of light impulses that are transmitted into our eyeball. The present clinical case aims to let us know that corneal disorders, especially of organic origin, are the main risk factors for ulcers, or injuries, which can be generated in the cornea due to damage to its superficial layers, leading to inflammation, scars and opacities in its transparent medium, directly causing partial or total loss of vision due to the distortion of incoming light that can be generated if the patient is not assessed on time. The case study was carried out on a 56-year-old male patient who presented for consultation mentioning that he had a work accident in his eyes with a banana leaf, in his preliminary consultation he presented low visual acuity accompanied by symptoms of photophobia, red eyes and pain. As a result of complementary tests, it was found that the cause of those symptoms was the presence of a fungal corneal ulcer caused by the fungus Fusarium. The research studied attests that this keratitis has a slow progression but a very worrying consequence such as the loss of vision and even the eye.es_ES
