The present clinical case is about a 26-year-old female patient who came to the annual consultation to have her vision evaluated because she presented low visual acuity related to high myopia. Visual acuity is the ability to distinguish, discriminate and recognize objects at a certain distance. When low visual acuity is present, it is due to pathologies or high refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. In this study it was possible to determine that the female patient did not present a decrease in visual acuity due to a pathological problem but to high myopia or magna myopia. The objective of this study is to determine the effects that contact lenses have on the patient with high myopia and how this can improve her field of vision to develop her daily activities in the best way. The symptoms reported by the patient were headache, eye redness, blurred vision and visual fatigue. The results obtained during the investigation were satisfactory for the patient, who felt more comfortable and even reported that she could see even better with the contact lenses as opposed to the air lenses. Therefore, a monthly control will be carried out to follow up the case and continue evaluating the optical quality of the patient and continue with the treatment as long as the ocular structures are suitable for this type of treatment.es_ES
