dc.description | The present clinical case is based on the nutritional management of a 40-year-old male patient, who attended a medical consultation presenting discomfort in his health, underwent the respective evaluation and was diagnosed with grade I obesity and hypercholesterolemia, the doctor made a respective consultation to the specialized area in nutrition and dietetics to initiate dietary treatment for weight loss and reduce cholesterol levels in blood. The objective was to optimize the nutritional status of the patient and prevent possible complications associated with obesity and hypercholesterolemia. In addition, updated bibliographic information was compiled on grade I obesity and hypercholesterolemia, such as its causes, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, consequences, and dietary treatment. In this case, four nutritional indicators were applied; Anthropometric, it allowed diagnosing the patient with a IMC 30.7kg/m2 and very high cardiovascular risk; Clinician, provided a quick diagnosis of some physical changes of the patient that manifested poor nutrition; Biochemists, it was corroborated that the cholesterol, levels were higher than the normal values; Dietetic, the 24-hour reminder and a food survey were applied, which allowed implanting their eating habits and dietary preferences to the weight loss plan, and modify their abnormal blood cholesterol levels successfully giving the proposed objectives. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El presente caso clínico, se basó en el manejo nutricional de un paciente de sexo masculino de 40 años de edad, que acudió a consulta médica presentando incomodidades en su salud, se le realizó la respectiva valoración y fue diagnosticado con obesidad grado 1 e hipercolesterolemia, el medico realizó una respectiva interconsulta al área especializada en nutrición y dietética para iniciar tratamiento dietético de pérdida de peso y optimizar niveles en sangre de colesterol. Como objetivo general, se estableció realizar un plan nutricional basado en las patologías que presenta el paciente, para mejorar el estado nutricional e impedir posibles complicaciones asociadas a la obesidad e hipercolesterolemia. Además, se recopilo información bibliográfica actualizada sobre la obesidad e hipercolesterolemia, como sus causas, fisiopatología, signos y síntomas, consecuencias y tratamiento dietético. Para el diagnóstico del paciente, se aplicó cuatro métodos de evaluación nutricional; antropométrico, permitió diagnosticar al paciente con obesidad grado I con un IMC 30.7kg/m2 y riesgo cardiovascular muy elevado; clínico, brindó diagnóstico rápido de algunos cambios físicos del paciente que manifestaban mala nutrición; bioquímicos, se evidenció que los niveles de colesterol, se encontraban superiores a los valores normales; dietético, se aplicó el recordatorio de 24 horas y una encuesta alimentaria lo que permitió implantar sus preferencias alimentarias al plan de pérdida de peso, y optimizar sus niveles de colesterol en sangre, dando con éxito los objetivos propuestos. | es_ES |
