dc.description | Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a disease with really important global growth, its complications represent a major health problem worldwide because of its high prevalence of mortality. The goal of this clinical case is to avoid complications of diabetes mellitus through the nutritional care process. This clinical case includes a 45-year-old female patient diagnosed with two-year-old type 2 diabetes mellitus, in pharmacological treatment with metformin of 1500mg daily, goes for a routine medical check, through nutritional assessment it is determined that the patient presents his fasting glucose biochemical values of 181mg/dl and a glycosylated hemoglobin of 7.9%, excessive carbohydrate intake as measured by the 24-hour reminder. Through the monitoring and monitoring of 3 months very good results are shown, mainly in biochemical values, managing to reduce glucose values to 110mg/dl and glycosylated hemoglobin to 5.5%. Poor diabetes control is mainly caused by poor diet, complications of diabetes mellitus have been avoided through the nutritional care process applied in the present case, the patient had good adherence to treatment. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | La diabetes mellitus tipo 2 es una enfermedad con un crecimiento mundial realmente importante, sus complicaciones representan un gran problema de salud a nivel mundial por su alta prevalencia de mortalidad. El objetivo del presente caso clínico es evitar las complicaciones de la diabetes mellitus a través del proceso de atención nutricional. El presente caso clínico incluye una paciente de sexo femenino de 45 años de edad diagnosticada con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 de dos años de evolución, en tratamiento farmacológico con metformina de 1500mg diarios, acude por un control médico de rutina, mediante la valoración nutricional se determina que la paciente presenta sus valores bioquímicos de glucosa en ayunas de 181mg/dl y una hemoglobina glicosilada de 7.9%, ingesta excesiva de carbohidratos medido por el recordatorio de 24 horas. Mediante el seguimiento y monitoreo de 3 meses se evidencian muy buenos resultados, principalmente en los valores bioquímicos, logrando reducir los valores de glucosa a 110mg/dl y hemoglobina glicosilada a 5.5%. El mal control de la diabetes es ocasionado principalmente por una mala alimentación, se ha logrado evitar las complicaciones de la diabetes mellitus a través del proceso de atención nutricional aplicado en el presente caso, la paciente presentó una buena adherencia al tratamiento. | es_ES |
