| dc.description | This clinical case is based on acute respiratory failure in which it is considered the inability of the respiratory system to conserve gas exchange, and thus have adequate arterial oxygen and carbon dioxide levels for the demands of cellular metabolism. This is one of the most frequent causes of morbidity, which is a gateway to the emergency room in hospital care transferred to the intensive care area. Through the application of the respiratory therapy care process with the evaluation of the patient's history and examinations to diagnose and have an exact diagnosis and also all its methods, processes and therapeutic treatment such as non-invasive mechanical ventilation, to improve as well its symptomatological picture and signs that occurs in acute respiratory failure. This case was investigated with the purpose of showing the respiratory therapy care process with the necessary care to obtain favorable progress and efficacy in the 86-year-old patient in the intensive care area of the Luis Vernaza Hospital with acute respiratory failure. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Este caso clínico está basado en la insuficiencia respiratoria aguda en la que se considera como la incapacidad del aparato respiratorio para conservar el intercambio de gases, y así tener los niveles arteriales de oxígeno y de dióxido de carbono adecuados para las demandas del metabolismo celular. Esta es una de las causas más frecuentes de morbilidad la cual es una puerta de entrada a urgencias en la atención hospitalaria transferida en el área de cuidados intensivos. Mediante la aplicación de proceso de atención de terapia respiratoria con la valoración de antecedentes del paciente y exámenes para diagnosticar y tener un diagnóstico exacto y así mismo como todos sus métodos, procesos y tratamiento terapéutico como lo es la ventilación mecánica no invasiva, para mejorar así su cuadro sintomatológico y de signos que se presenta en la insuficiencia respiratoria aguda. Este caso fue indagado con el propósito de manifestar el proceso de atención de terapia respiratoria con los cuidados necesarios para obtener un progreso favorable y eficacia en el paciente de 86 años en el servicio del área de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Luis Vernaza con insuficiencia respiratoria aguda. | es_ES |
